There are QUITE A FEW things on social media that really piss me off.
But, there is one that hits the nail on the head...
TATTOOED WOMEN ARE BAD MOTHERS!
That one definitely takes the lead.
Every time I scroll through my timeline i see, pictures, posts, links etc. about tattooed women being bad mothers.
I have a kid. And, i have nieces.
Not 1 day goes by that my daughter isn't laughing, smiling, dancing, singing and LOVING life.
I have tattoos...her father has a tattoo...her Avia has tattoos..her Papa has several tattoos...and we all have many more waiting to be done.
Over 60% of her family has tattoos.
Our tattoos do not harm our kids.
My daughter loves them. She will point at them with the biggest grin on her face and yell "tattoo!"
Hell, just last night she and her aunt put on temporary tattoos.
That's right! My 1 YEAR OLD got her first temporary tattoo last night and she LOVED it!
In my opinion, and as told by many others, we all are great parents.
Now I'm in no way shape or form perfect. I am FAR from it.
But, I consider myself a good mother.
Yes, I drink, but NEVER around my kid and i never get drunk.
I don't cuss or smoke.
I only have one SO, my daughters father.
I'm not out running the streets or bar hopping and partying on the weekends.
I spend my weekends with the family doing game night or just spending time together.
I'm selfless when it comes to my daughter.
I have given up a few things for her. I'm not blaming her one bit either because i enjoy every bit of my life with her.
She is going on 2 years in October.
She is very smart.
I spend every day taking care of her.
Besides the basics I also teach her along with the help of her Avia.
She has an extensive vocabulary, a wild imagination, she knows sign language, I've even got her to say a couple of Spanish words. She can count backwards from 10, she can say all of her colors and can point them out and has already started learning the ABC song with the help of her Papa.
I could go on and on about my little Monster.
But the point of this post is to state my opinion on the ridiculous stereotype of tattooed moms.
I can't help but laugh and roll my eyes at the level of ignorance these people posses.
I know everyone had their opinion but someones they're just plain stupid!
The only thing we can do though is to keep getting tattoos and continue to prove them wrong. It's not what's on a mother's skin that affects her parenting, it's HOW she parents and treats her kids from her heart.
You can have a thousand tattoos and be the most amazing mom in the world.
You can have not a single dot of ink on your skin and be the most horrible mother in the world.
Anyways, it's late and we have a long weekend ahead of us.
I am off to snuggle up beside my baby, tattoos and all!!
